Search Companies

Preview companies that match a target filter before saving an account segment, running signals, or syncing results to downstream tools.

Overview

Use company search when you want to preview a market segment before saving it as a list, running signal research, or syncing accounts into a downstream tool.

Search returns a bounded preview of companies that match a filter. Treat it as an exploration step, not as durable storage. If the segment is useful, create a Company List from the same filter so the results can be reviewed, paged, exported, or reused by workflows.

  1. Start with the narrowest filter that describes the target segment.
  2. Run a search preview and inspect the first results for fit.
  3. Adjust the filter until the preview matches the intended audience.
  4. Create a Company List when you need to reuse the segment.
  5. Run signals, scoring, or CRM sync against the saved list.

Filter design

Good filters are explicit enough to be repeatable. Prefer structured criteria such as industry, company size, geography, keywords, and technology signals over broad free-text descriptions.

Use a search preview before creating a list when:

  • You are exploring a new ICP segment.
  • You want to estimate whether a filter is too broad or too narrow.
  • You need a small sample before spending credits on list creation.
  • You are testing filters for an automated workflow.

Operational notes

  • Search previews are capped, so they are best for validation rather than exhaustive retrieval.
  • Save the filter as a Company List before handing results to another system.
  • Use stable filter definitions in CI or agent workflows so repeated runs are comparable.
  • Check rate limits before running many previews in a loop.
