Contact Signals
Ask structured questions about contacts and receive cited AI answers that support personalization, qualification, and outreach workflows.
Overview
Contact signals answer structured research questions about a person, usually from a LinkedIn profile or enriched contact record.
Use contact signals when account-level research is not enough. They are best for persona research, outreach personalization, qualification, and understanding a contact's likely priorities.
Choosing an execution mode
Use sync contact signals when an agent, rep, or workflow needs the answer immediately. Use async contact signals when the answer can arrive later or when a downstream system receives results through polling or webhook workflows.
Signal design
Good contact signals focus on evidence that helps a seller decide what to say or whether to prioritize a person:
- Current role and likely responsibilities.
- Relevant career history.
- Topics or initiatives mentioned publicly.
- Fit against a target persona.
- Outreach angle or objection risk.
Avoid asking for broad biographies when the workflow only needs one decision. Structured questions produce cleaner fields for CRM sync and scoring.
Inputs and quality
Contact signals work best with a stable profile URL or enriched contact record. If the contact identity is ambiguous, search or enrich the contact first, then run the signal against the resolved profile.
